I want to specify that the US government ICE agents rapelled from Blackhawk helicopters to take over an apartment building, breaking open apartment doors in the middle of the night to drag barely-clad residents from their homes and detain everyone in UHaul trucks with the children zip-tied to each other. Regardless of citizenship.
There was too much traffic today, and an ICE agent deployed a tear gas canister in traffic in response.

This is surreal. We’re being attacked by the United States.
Now, today is September 26th, and this is supposed to go into effect on October 1st, which is like nine months in the warped dog-years time of the Trump administration. And it’s very possible he’ll walk it back or conveniently forget about it, which happens pretty frequently.
Which means that calling your reps now may actually make a difference in whether this kills people.
Step 1: Search up the generic name for whatever meds you take, then call your pharmacist - not your primary - and ask where it comes from and whether any part of it is manufactured in the US. THEN call your primary and tell them to pre-order your next round, even if you’re not due yet. (They might try to tell you they can’t do that. They can.)
Step 2: Call your reps - by now you should be calling them so often they’re one of the top numbers saved in your phone, but you can also find them very easily here - and tell them specifically that you are worried about the financial impact on American business this will have and ask them what they plan to do about it. Because sadly, concerns about money and saving their own skin will probably get their attention faster than any concerns about the harm it will do to vulnerable individuals.
NONE OF THIS IS INEVITABLE. I’m serious, call your reps. We’ve gotten other Orwellian nightmare shit walked back or shot down - because remember that we’re not dealing with actual politics anymore, we’re dealing with a spineless madman with late stage dementia who’s favorite pastime is Just Saying Things To Say Things - and we can get this shot down too.
so as per various DC social media concepts Clark has a Superman twitter where he posts left-leaning but fairly safe & tame stuff e.g. happy pride from Superman. Clark Kent also has his own twitter account where he posts his actual opinion.

Scenario 2: “world wakes up to Superman tweeting about how he hates the police” and then the Shazam twitter account starts agreeing with him and that’s how the world finds out that two of the most powerful heros both hate the police

Someone tweets if Bruce Wayne pays taxes, and Bruce accidentally replies with his Batman account with a simple “Yes”, so people start to think that besides beating up villains, Batman also spends his time staring menacingly at billionaires while they fill their taxes to make sure there’s no creative accounting going on

Like arcane basically just did this meme with them two. And it goes both ways with them both.
I wish, even if was like a special feature type of thing, that we got to see more of their dynamics and interactions. Because I feel like it would be adorable, precious, and a bit fucked up.
But like I do think that Silco did love her and was as good a father as he could be especially in context of the environment, Silco's own trauma and mental state, and what resources were available in Zaun.
I think that is something Arcane did really well is show relationships are complex and complicated and Silco and Jinx are perfect example of that.
I think that is hard to deny that Silco was her parent and that he loved her and she loved him.
You are absolutely right. Arcane is so unique thanks to Silco and Jinx, in my opinion. For years I’ve been yelling into the void that we need villains who genuinely love someone(who is alive and in the story)/have family they care about. I will always thank Arcane for loving yet messed up dad Silco.
He though he could help Jinx but it was Jinx who ended up helping him (realize the power of love and the consequences of your own actions, idiot)
Astarion gets outed by the shadow-cursed lands and discovers that his companions (friends?!) don’t mind.
Reccer says: I’m always partial to the boys, but I love stories about A&G and about A&K - and this has both! A well-written, lovely look at genuine friendships developing.

Reccer says: This is a gen fic, but it feels like it’s something higher rated solely because of how much of an asshole Gortash is. The despair and dependence of a person in a low-paid, low-respect job is described masterfully.
After Cazador’s death, Astarion doesn’t understand why he’s drawn back to that point in his life. Shadowheart wants to help him overcome what he’s faced.
Reccer says: one of my favorites. a really poignant examination of Astarion and Shadowheart both trying to navigate life after freeing themselves of their abusers, and all the complicated feelings that come with it

Something must be going on with these Harpers… Time to avert another threat to the realm… poor Jaheira just can never catch a break. Hey do you like Astarion and Jaheira interacting? Same! They banter back and forth for thousands of words here, yippee!
Reccer says: Jaheria and Astarion are such good banter buddies, the sass never stops. Sure, they’re going to solve this mystery but first they have to snark at each other for a while. Also Astarion is so pissy at being stuck in the room.
The Shadow Druids seek her out first, thinking that Kagha will be a chink in the Grove’s armour with Halsin gone. Kagha, tired and holding the Grove together by a thread, is not entirely unmoved.
Reccer says: Beautiful language and such a sympathetic view of Kagha

Reccer says: The story being told entirely through shared letters is a unique twist that makes for a very intimate read as you infer details about their lives through their writing. Shadowheart is very sweet, and I just love seeing Nocturne given some hope and love!
